I saw this self portrait of the photographer Giles Duley at National Portrait Gallery, London.
He stepped on an IED in Afghanistan in 2011 while on assignement.
He declared to New York Times:
“I thought, ‘Right hand? Eyes?’ ” — he realized that all of these were intact — “and I thought, ‘I can work.’ “
I am almost shocked by such an endless commitment. I think we all have to learn from this guy.
